Head Coach Ron Glasow is entering his 20th season at the helm of the San Jose State hockey team. He is the only head coach the team has known and during his tenure he has led the Spartans to eight American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Tournament appearances.
In 2005-06, Ron guided the team to the #1 ranking in the ACHA West Region and #10 in the nation. Ron was voted as the ACHA National Coach of the Year for his and the team’s accomplishment.

Ron is certainly accustomed to winning. The Rochester, New York native was a goaltender throughout his playing career and led the 1969 Irondequoit Indians to the Monroe County High School League Championship where he was a unanimous choice for the All-Star team.
From 1970-1974, Ron was voted Finger Lakes Hockey League “Goaltender of the Year” while playing for the Brockport State Golden Eagles. He is the only goaltender to receive the award in four consecutive seasons.
Moving out West, Ron played semi-pro hockey for the Fresno Falcons where he led the team to four Pacific States Hockey League (PSHL) championships and was named the league’s top goaltender eight straight years. Ron also holds PSHL records for most consecutive wins (9) and most back-to-back shutouts (2), and is the only goaltender in PSHL history to record an undefeated season.
Ron currently resides in San Jose with his wife, Deanie, and their two sons.

ASSISTANT COACH – IAN FAZZI

Ian Fazzi returns for his 4th season behind the bench to help tutor the team’s young defensive corps. Under the watchful eye of his Uncle Ron, Ian excelled at all levels of youth hockey on such local club teams as the Santa Clara Blackhawks, West Bay Polars, & Jr. Sharks/Norcal Rep Tier teams.

At the age of 16, Ian left the Bay Area to play at Northwood Prep School in Lake Placid, New York. After 3 years prolific years there, Ian was recruited to play NCAA D-3 at Rochester Institute of Technology (R.I.T.). Ian played 3 years for the Tigers the before returning home to finish out school at SJSU.
Ian is a lovable Pisces that enjoys long moonlit walks on the beach and is secretly perfecting the Iron Lotus with pair’s partner Jeff Mattern. In his spare time, Ian co-coaches the Santa Clara Blackhawks Midget 16AA team and runs The Hockey Pond with former Spartan great Ray Kellam.
