HEAD COACH - AARON MULLAGH
A native of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, Coach Aaron Mullagh will lead the SJSU Spartans into their 21st season on their quest to win a national championship.
Coach Mullagh started his coaching career at the young age of 15 after being selected amongst hundreds of candidates to participate in the University of British Columbia's "Coach Training & Leadership program" before advancing on to play and coach Minor Hockey in Toronto, Ontario. In 1997, he had the opportunity to consult the Japanese National Team in preparation for the 2008 Nagano Olympic Games. In 1999, he arrived in California and immediately took a strong interest in the Northern California Hockey Community. In 2002, he began coaching in the California Cougars youth hockey program where he has won two U18 NorCal Championships, as well as a U18 CAHA State Title in 2008. Since 2009, he has held the role of "Hockey Director" at Ice Center Enterprises, where he enjoys working with players of all ages on a daily basis.
Known for being a passionate teacher of the game, his attention to detail, and utilizing dynamic systems, Coach Mullagh will challenge his players to reach their full potential on and off the ice this season.

ASSISTANT COACH - JARED KATZ
Jared joins the Spartan Coaching Staff this season and brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the staff. Jared is a Bay Area native who grew up playing for the NorCal Rep Tier Hockey teams as a Peewee and Bantam, Jared spent the past 10 years playing Junior and NCAA collegiate hockey in the Midwest, suiting up for the Little Caesar's, Detroit Jr. Wings, and Detroit Hockey Club Redhawks Midget AAA teams, the Youngstown Phantoms (NAHL), Toledo Ice Diggers (NAHL), and Bay State Breakers (EJHL) Junior teams, and finally the Wayne State (CHA) and Western Michigan University (CCHA) NCAA teams. Jared earned his BA in Business Management from Western Michigan University in 2010 and assistant coached the Chelsea Bulldogs Squirt A Team
to the 2011 League Championship in Chelsea, MI. Jared's focus behind the Spartan bench will be on improving the Spartans'
offensive attack; the part of the game at which he was the most proficient during his successful youth, junior, and collegiate playing career.

ASSISTANT COACH - DANIEL MCCARTHY
Daniel joins the Spartan Coaching Staff this season looking to improve the defensive aspect of the Spartans' game. Daniel is a Bay Area native who grew up playing in the San Jose Blades' and San Jose Jr. Sharks' organizations before eventually advancing to the Junior ranks where he suited
up for the Walpole Express (AJHL) in 2006-07. Daniel played for the Spartans in the Fall of 2007 and was a point-per-game producer from the Spartan blue
line. Daniel will look to pass on his playing knowledge to the Spartans' defense corps to help make them as physically powerful, defensively savvy, and offensively proficient as he was during his playing career.
